zoom is a video work capturing the early stages of lockdown in Norway narrated though the lives of students. Due to the corona pandemic, the whole country closed down on March 12. 2020. A year many had set expectations for, took a u-turn over the course of one day. Spread across the country, these young adults was now confined to their homes, where silence and a slow pace of time became their new normal. For many, new ways of being creative was a solution for dealing with the uncertain circumstances. At home, life became tedious, in contrast to the chaotic situation society was in. At times the four walls would seemingly close in on you. This work is a testimony of the situation we faced collectively, while depicting how society affected our lives separately. Challenging times can make us find new ways to find connection. Sometimes, a fly on the wall can be as prominent in our life as what we read about in the news, and resemble the uneasy feelings that occur in troubled times.
